Overview

As part of the IMPERO series, Graveyard also uses traditional female handicrafts transforming ephemeral object in contemporary conceptual art works

The Graveyard is an installation made of 100 hand-crochet white lilies.
In war death is considered an act of glory almost a sacred sacrifice. Everywhere in the world this sacrifice is monumentally celebrated through war cemeteries where rows of white crosses are arranged geometrically in the landscape.
Instead of white crosses my graveyard uses hand-crochet lilies.

Grave Yard is a space for meditation and silence. Massive death becomes an open field of flowers; each flower is richly crafted and represents the preciousness of life.
