Overview

I am dressed in a sexy pink dress made of artificial leather, and I carry a basket of candies. With a French kiss, I invite people to taste my candies. I first unwrap a candy, then put it in my mouth, and finally slip it between the lips of another. The performance ends when the candies run out; therefore, the duration of the event is not predetermined. This character, Loly, has no face and no story. She is like an automaton. She is simply Loly the candy girl. Her kisses, although pleasant, have completely lost their human effect. Even if she appears enjoyable, she is mechanical, merciless and cold.

The piece can easily be repeated anywhere, adapting to cultural and geographical contexts. It is useful in testing the basic assumptions of a culture's attitudes towards sex, strangers, hygiene, interpersonal trust, etc. The aim of the project is to make the Loly story an itinerant worldwide event that will expose cultural differences and similarities in various environments and countries.
