Overview
Snakes island, as my father use to call it, is an island at the cross road between Greece and Albania.
As a child seeing this island meant that in a few hours I would be arriving in Corfu.
Off the East side of the island you could see the Albanian cost. Back then a mysterious land that would not allow any one to cross its border. I use to fantasies about Albania wondering how it look like.
One night in a storm my father had to tack close and pass the Albanian water brother to bare the heavy winds. We soon received a radio warning and our boat was shot.
There is still 3 bullet on our bow from that night. Even today looking at this bare mountains I remember the fell of adventure and the excitement imagining a world at the other side of an imaginary line.

This video was created for the North East Project immersive interactive installation. North East Project is an interactive storytelling project that uses navigation coordinates as a narrative structure. It explores the reciprocal relationship between man and his physical surroundings. The project focuses on the nautical sphere, a constantly shifting place, which man can never have total control over but must perpetually renegotiate his position.
